Xiaomi to release MIUI in India without Banned Apps

MI LogoXiaomi is one of the most popular smartphone brands in India. It is famous for making smartphones with good specifications at an affordable price. But since India has banned a lot of Chinese applications the future of Xiaomi in India was in question. Most of the banned applications used to come pre-installed with the device. This had resulted to float a lot of false information about the brand. But to overcome these fake rumors, Xiaomi has finally come up with an official statement. So let’s go through the announcement.

Xiaomi to release MIUI in India without Banned Application Offical Announcement.

Below are the points which are announced publically.

  1. None of the applications blocked by the Indian government is available for accessing it on the Xiaomi device.
  2. Xiaomi is working on developing a new version of MIUI that will be built without having any of the banned preinstalled applications. This update will be available in the coming weeks.
  3. Further clarity is made for the “Clean Master” application. They have highlighted that Clean master is the most commonly used name and is used by multiple application developers. MIUI has its own Clean Master app and they are not using the application which is blocked by the Indian Government.
  4. Xiaomi has reiterated that they comply and adhere to all the data privacy and security requirements under Indian Law. Since 2018, 100% of the India user’s data is stored on a server located in India and none is shared outside India.

Additionally, Xiaomi has warned stating legal action will be taken in case any misinformation is spread across regarding the above points.
